Carolien van Wersch has more than 20 years of experience in the field of sustainable and social entrepreneurship. For example, she was responsible for corporate social responsibility at Nike, dealt with sustainability as a senior manager at Ernst & Young and was a board member at Stichting Jarige Job for seven years. Since 2017, Carolien has been an entrepreneur. With her company Double Purpose, she helps social entrepreneurs and large companies to make profit as well as impact. She also holds the position of director for the Rotterdam-based foundation Voor Goed since 2019. Voor Goed is helps companies that want to make a positive contribution in and to the city. They connect initiators, SME's, impact entrepreneurs, corporates and Rotterdammers to make even more impact, lasting results.
Nathalie van Loon is an advocate of public-commons partnerships. She works at the City of Amsterdam and focuses on developing practical tools to promote and facilitate urban commons in areas such as food, energy, care and data. With a background in political science, she focuses her expertise on accessible and sustainable (social) innovations to create collaborative partnerships. Nathalie's passion lies in bridging the gap between theory and practice. She collaborates with various stakeholders, including government agencies, knowledge institutions, grassroots organizations, citizens and business players, to create partnerships that work for the entire city.
Michiel van Keulen has held various positions within real estate management after his studies. Until 2009 he was active at the Rijksgebouwendienst (the Dutch national building services). After this he worked for the municipality of Rotterdam as investment policy coordinator. With fewe financial resources, but undiminished ambition, the Investments and Funds Department (I&F) establishes the relationship between the two, using thorough considerations to determine what is best for the city in terms of money, quality and social impact. After a foray at the Voor Goed foundation, he rejoined the City of Rotterdam, this time as Program Manager Impact Economy. Here he is committed to strengthening the impact economy with a focus on social entrepreneurship.
Oubbol Oung received her doctorate in physical chemistry from the University Paris-Sud Orsay in 1996. After a postdoctoral position at GeoDelft, a research institute in Delft, Oubbol worked for more than 5 years on various projects in the field of geotechnical engineering and modeling. In addition, she was responsible for leading research projects. Since 2004, Oubbol has worked at the municipality of Rotterdam as a consultant and was involved in large construction projects such as the rebuilding of the central station 'Rotterdam Centraal' and creating more space for rivers 'Ruimte voor de rivieren' in Nijmegen. Since 2014, her interest is in sustainability and climate change, especially energy transition, and she is more directly involved in European projects in the field of energy, such as CELSIUS (promoting district heating, 2013-2018), NEZER (promoting near-energy-neutral building renovation, 2014-2017), and finally she leads the Rotterdam project TRIPLE-A (awareness, easy access and adoption of low-C technologies, 2016-2020). TRIPLE-A aims to increase the adoption of energy-efficient renovations by private homeowners by applying a holistic approach and thereby creating market acceptance.
Marvin Tiemessen has held various positions within the broader field of climate and energy. After his studies he briefly worked as project coordinator for Parkstad Limburg City Region and as an analist at Gasunie/WarmtelinQ. After which, he was active as an advisor for the energy transition at Over Morgen which is now fully integrated at Arcadis, a leading international organization providing design, engineering and consulting services for the built and natural environment. Up until now he's been working as a policy officer climate and society for the Dutch ministry of climate and green growth. His focus is on sustainable, participatory and equitable climate transition within the broader climate directorate.
Jetze van der Ham works as a senior advisor in the District Affairs department of the municipality of Breda and is chairman of the National Platform for Neighborhood and District Oriented Work (LPB) Foundation. At LPB, Jetze focuses mainly on exchange by making connections and organizing meetings. Jetze studied history and public administration and started working for the municipality of Hellevoetssluis 20 years ago on themes such as livability and safety. Two years later he became policy advisor for neighborhood affairs in Schiedam to eventually become neighborhood manager in Rotterdam Delfshaven. After this he joined Platform31 as project leader and researcher. Here he organized courses, neighborhood projects and conferences. He settled at the district department of the municipality of Breda, where he still works. His work focuses on neighborhoods that are also involved in the National Livability and Safety Program (NPLV). And through the LPB and WijkWijzer he can share knowledge and insights and think about meetings for professionals.
